This reader-friendly guide summarizes selected provisions of the 2024 Library Manual. Read the full manual and any subsequently published policy or campus notice for detailed procedures, current schedules and applicable charges.
Students, faculty and staff
Bona fide WPU students, faculty and staff must present a valid school ID or acceptable proof of enrollment or employment. New students may be asked for a Certificate of Registration; newly hired employees may present appropriate employment documents.
Alumni and outside researchers
Alumni may consult materials inside the Library and request reproduction subject to the reprographic policy. The 2024 manual lists a PHP 50 research fee per day for researchers from other institutions, with exemptions for alumni and covered MOA/MOU partner agencies. Confirm the applicable fee and requirements with the Library before visiting.
Visitors with library business
The manual distinguishes business visitors, such as suppliers, from library researchers. Visitors follow the visitor log and information-desk procedure. Visitor access does not automatically grant borrowing or general use privileges; ask staff about the appropriate access category.
Arrival and departure
- Present the required identification.
- Complete the Library Attendance System or the designated logsheet.
- Log out before leaving.
- Follow staff directions for visitor slips, payments and referrals where applicable.
Respectful use of shared spaces
- Keep conversations and electronic-device sounds from disturbing others.
- Set communication devices to silent mode.
- Treat library users and staff respectfully; harassment is prohibited.
- Use rooms and equipment for their designated purpose.
- Protect library materials and keep spaces clean.
- Follow food, drink and safety restrictions; the manual provides limited exceptions for approved room or media-center events.
Borrowing, reproduction and computer use
Borrowing privileges depend on the user category and type of material. Reproduction and digitization require staff checks and applicable permissions. Follow the e-library computer rules and save your work before leaving.
