V39.4.0 General Release

One-Stop Research Hub User Guide

A consolidated guide for discovery, saved resources, literature review, research projects, citation exports, privacy, and support.

1. Account Access and Researcher Sign-In

Create or sign in to a researcher account to maintain permanent personal workspaces. Your researcher account is separate from the administrative login. After signing in, use the researcher navigation to open Overview, Workspaces, Unified Saved Library, Unified Literature Review, Activity, and Profile.

2. Discover Trusted Research Resources

  1. Open Discover.
  2. Enter a topic, title, author, identifier, or keyword.
  3. Review source, evidence, access, and metadata indicators.
  4. Open the source or save the canonical record into a selected workspace.
  5. Use broader terms or Boolean keywords when no exact result appears.

3. Unified Saved Library

The Unified Saved Library combines saved canonical records from all personal workspaces. Search by title, author, abstract, tag, note, or workspace. Filter by workspace, status, and resource type. Available statuses include To Review, Relevant, Maybe, Included, Excluded, Reading, Reviewed, Important, and Archived.

Open a record in its workspace to edit status, priority, theme, tags, relevance notes, or exclusion reason. Use CSV export for a portable research inventory.

4. Unified Literature Review

The Literature Review dashboard shows all research projects and their completion status. Each project follows an eight-stage process:

  1. Research Questions
  2. Screening
  3. Themes
  4. Literature Matrix
  5. Synthesis
  6. Possible Research Gaps
  7. Research Plan
  8. Export

Exclusion reasons are required. Downstream analysis uses finally included sources. Verify generated matrix entries, summaries, citations, and gap candidates against the original studies.

5. Managing Research Projects

Create a workspace for each research topic, class requirement, thesis, institutional study, or review. Add the topic, objective, questions, keywords, and target date. A resource may be saved in more than one workspace while remaining one canonical research record.

6. Citations and Exports

The system can prepare citation drafts and export saved libraries, screening reports, matrices, research plans, and full review packages. Automatically generated citations may contain incomplete or conflicting metadata. Always compare the result with the original publication and the citation style required by your institution.

7. Data Privacy, Security, and Academic Integrity

  • Access only your own workspaces and resources explicitly shared with you.
  • Do not upload restricted, confidential, or copyrighted material without permission.
  • Direct quotations require quotation marks and source attribution.
  • Paraphrased ideas still require citation.
  • AI-assisted outputs are drafts and must be reviewed by the researcher.
  • The researcher remains responsible for factual accuracy, ethical compliance, and originality.

8. Legacy Workspace Transition

General Release policy: duplicate legacy pages are redirected or retained as read-only archives. New writes are accepted only through current researcher workspaces, the Unified Saved Library, and the Unified Literature Review.

Historical guest items may still be viewed or exported from the legacy archive. The old project studio and workspace aliases no longer serve as authoritative write locations.

9. Troubleshooting

A saved item is missing.
Check the workspace filter, status filter, and search terms. Contact support with the resource title and original workspace.
A source link does not open.
Try the institutional access link, search the title in Discover, or report the broken link.
The literature workflow is disabled.
The Integrated Literature Review migration may still require administrator installation.
A citation appears incomplete.
Open the original source and manually verify the author, date, title, publication, DOI, and URL.
A legacy form says read-only.
Open the Unified Saved Library or current researcher workspace and continue there.

10. Help and Technical Support

Use Ask a Librarian for research assistance, access problems, missing migrated records, incorrect metadata, or literature-review guidance. Include the affected page, workspace, record title, and a clear description of the issue.
